03. Types of training and development
These training programmes can be broadly divided into on-the-job and off-the-job categories:
01. On-the-job training uses the same tools, equipment, documentation, and resources that students will use after finishing their training and is conducted in a normal work environment. On-the-job training is typically regarded as the most advantageous for vocational labour.
02. Off-the-job training occurs away from regular work environments, suggesting that the individual is not considered to be a directly productive worker at that time. One benefit of off-the-job training is that it gives employees time away from their jobs to focus more intently on the training itself. It has been shown that this kind of instruction is more successful at ingraining thoughts and ideas. (Disha Singh(2022 April)).

Orientation Training
Upon hiring a new employee, the company typically requires them to complete orientation or induction training. It serves as a means of acclimating a new hire to his workplace and coworkers. The employee receives information on the policies, benefits, and operations of the company during the induction training.
In addition to assisting the new hire in settling in to his position and workgroup, the induction training boosts morale inside the company.
Job Training
Safety Training
The series of exercises designed to give employees the know-how and abilities to carry out their jobs in a safe and efficient manner is referred to as safety training. This kind of training teaches people how to recognise, report, and handle workplace mishaps in addition to educating them on the dangers and hazards connected to different work tasks.
Training Methods for All Tastes and Needs
In summary, businesses require ongoing employee training in order to grow and succeed. Businesses cannot compete if their staff do not continue to upgrade their abilities.
Effective training depends on selecting the best training approach for your staff. Also, you might benefit from utilising a variety of training techniques. It all relies on the purpose and audience for whom you are providing the training programme.
The effectiveness of any training programme depends critically on how well your training methods match your objectives and target audience. Choosing the best training approach increases employee skill and job satisfaction and alignment with your business. (Emily Gore (2023 Feb)
